About the data
What it shows
This indicator shows the evolution of player participation levels over time for each competition type.
How to read it
The stacked bar chart shows:
- X-axis: Years (from 2015)
- Y-axis: Number of players
- Colors: Activity levels (lighter = casual, darker = intense)
Color gradients are derived from each competition type's base color, allowing easy visual identification of the selected type.
Definitions
Counting methodology:
- Tournaments (T): 1 participation = 1 tournament attended, regardless of the number of matches played
- MiniLeague (M), Interclub (I), Friendly (C): 1 participation = 1 match played
Activity levels:
Players are categorized based on their participation count per year:
- Casual: Low participation (occasional players)
- Regular: Moderate participation (consistent players)
- Active: High participation (committed players)
- Intense: Very high participation (dedicated players)
The thresholds for each level vary by competition type and are defined in the analytics database.
Data scope
Filters:
- Competition Type: Select which competition to analyze (Tournament, MiniLeague, Interclub, or Friendly)
- Club: Filter by specific club or view all clubs
Exclusions:
- International players (
is_international = 1) - Federation clubs (Swiss Squash, PSA)
